  • Parents -- Home Base offers a great deal of information and tools to help teachers, students and parents work better together. As you have conferences with your students teachers this fall, we encourage parents to use the information in PowerSchool for you. By already having the basic information about your student’s grades, attendance and other details in hand, you can spend your conference time with the teacher on discussions about learning strategies and other activities to help your student succeed. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) has recently completed a Home Base Parent Portal Guide that provides parent users with an introduction to this key resource. This is available online athttp://goo.gl/EY8Bhp.  Stop by the school to pick up your log in information.

The Mix 96.5 has launched a new program called The Mix Teacher of the Month. The way it works: principals, parents, students and fellow teachers can nominate a teacher through their website. Once a month they'll chose a teacher to recognize and he/she will receive more than $500 in prizes, including a $100 Visa gift card. He or she will then be in to win teacher of the year and more than $5,000 in prizes.

Visit The Mix 96.5 website where there are more details and where nominations can be made - Help us recognize our awesome Candler School Teachers!
