Advisory Council Applications Available

The Buncombe County Board of Education has a sincere commitment to the concept of citizen involvement in our schools. To facilitate such involvement, the Board of Education has established a structure of School Advisory Councils at each school, comprised of between 5-13 members, whose purpose is to provide informed advice to school leaders and/or the Board itself. Councils might discuss and advise on such matters as human relations, school facilities, school activities, community/Board of Education relations, and/or other matters related to the individual schools.  School Advisory Councils meet a minimum of four times each year, ideally at times as convenient to as many members as possible. Advisory Council members must reside in the school attendance area in which they serve, and are appointed for one year terms.
