All Buncombe County students are required to complete and pass a Graduation Project that has four components: paper, product, portfolio, and presentation.

Juniors should complete their proposal form and research paper in their English III class.  This will give students the opportunity to complete their product during the summer before their graduation year.  The paper may be refined in their English IV class if necessary, still counting as part of their final Graduation Project grade in English IV.

All seniors taking English IV (Regular, Honors, and AP) will be responsible for a Graduation Project that consists of a paper, product, portfolio, and presentation.  Each of these components will count equally (¼) toward their Graduation Project grade.  The Graduation Project grade will replace the final exam grade in calculating the final average in English IV.  The presentation will be in front of a panel after school on a scheduled date.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please do not hesitate to contact Kirstie Fischer, the Graduation Project Committee Chair by email or phone. (kirstie.fischer@bcsemail.org or 232-4251)
