They often have wonderful scholarships that are available only to their specific school.
Keith Black Medical Professional Scholarship-Dr. Black will be awarding one student at each of the high schools in our area a $400 scholarship. It is for students with a minumum 3.9 GPA who play to pursue a degree in a health care field at either a 2 or 4 year school. Please come by the Counseling Dept. to pick up more information. Applications are due to the Cousneling Dept. by Friday May 3rd.

The Asheville Scottish Rite Education Foundation-an educational scholarship for students with minimum GPA of 3.0 and excellent character. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Dept. and are due back to Counseling by April 26th. Amount is $5,000.
Keisha Young Careers Scholarship Program-for minority students with a minimum of 2.75 planning to pursue a field of study for which Mission Hospitals has an employment need (Histotech, Medical Technology, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Paramedics, RN, Speech and Respiratory Therapy, Surgery Tech, Anesthesia Tech, Physician. Applications are available in the Counseling Dept. Due date for applications to Mission Hospitals is Friday April 26th.

International Association of Administrative Professionals-the Land of Sky Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professional will present a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who wishes to further their education toward an adminstrative professional/business career. St. Luke's Episcopal Church Scholarship-a permanent scholarship fund to aid and assist people who desire to continue their education but who cannot because of their economic situation. The scholarship is for those wanting to pursue an under‑graduate degree or certifcation in a designated curriculum of no less than two semesters. Available to any resident of Buncombe County who has been accepted by a post‑secondary institution accredited by the United States Department of Education, the scholarship is intended for both high school seniors and adults wishing to seek a degree. Each individual stipend will be up to the amount of $1000 per year and will be paid to the chosen school. Due May 3rd online only. Area 1 North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation District Conservation Scholarship- For high school students interested in pursuing a college major in the studies of agriculture, field science, energy, natural resources, environmental science, or related field are encouraged to apply. Specific amount of scholarship will depend on funding. Award decisions will be made before end of school year. Due date for application is April 15th, 2013

Asheville Eye Associates Scholarship the group is sponsoring a one-time scholarship contest for $1,000. Contestants must design a t-shirt for the Asheville EYE Associates' 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Low Vision Center. Submissions are due October 30th. Students interested can come by counseling for the handout.
