TEACHERS/LICENSED HIRING PROCESS

STEP 1
Buncombe County Schools requires that all applicants for all positions create a North Carolina Department of Public Instruction account for an online applicationPlease do NOT send a paper application or transcripts to the Personnel Department at Central Office during the application period.

When completing the online application you must choose to submit the application to "Buncombe County Schools."  Your application will be viewable to us within 24 hours.

Check current Job Postings on the North Carolina Public Schools Application System website.
 
STEP 3
Click the "Apply" link to apply for the position (please note: you must be logged into your SchoolJobs online application/account to see the "Apply" link).
 
STEP 4
In addition, you may e-mail your resume to the contact person listed on the vacancy and contact the school or site to schedule an interview. If you are offered a position, you will need to fill out the appropriate Employment Forms and send them to the Personnel Department.

NOTE: If you do not hold a NC Teaching License, you must provide your transcript, Praxis scores, and a copy of your out-of-state teaching license at the time of your interview to the school or department in which you are applying to.
