Welcome to the North Windy Ridge Media Center. 

 

The Media Center operates on a flexible schedule.  Flexible scheduling allows students and staff to use the Media Center as needed.  Students can come throughout the day to checkout books, take Accelerated Reader tests, and work on research projects.  The teachers and I are able to collaborate on lessons and research projects throughout the school year.  While research is going on I teach research skills including the Big 6 research model.  Teachers are able to sign up to bring their students on a daily basis while working on the projects.  We began this schedule in the 2007-2008 school year and it worked great.  There was a definite increase of Media Center use and the Media staff was busier than ever! 

 

The students come to the Media Center once a week for a scheduled checkout time.   With flexible access students are welcome to come as needed.
