About Us

Candler Elementary School
  • Is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
  • Serves a local community made up of predominately middle class families.
  • Was established in 1888 as Hominy Valley Institute.
  • Was renamed Candler High School in 1906.
  • Was renovated in 1922.
  • Tar Heel Building- built in 1952
  • Cardinal Building - built in 1959
  • Dogwood Building - built in 1979
