I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of West Buncombe School. I am so excited about my new position. West Buncombe is a wonderful school and it still feels like home. I can’t wait to meet all the students and staff members. It is my sincere desire to continue West Buncombe’s success academically. I will strive everyday to make West Buncombe a safe and caring learning environment for your child.
This is my eighteenth year with Buncombe County Schools. I taught third and fourth grade at North Buncombe Elementary for nine years. I was the assistant principal here for three years. For the past six years I was honored to serve as the principal of Oakley Elementary.
I considered myself a very blessed man. I am so proud of my family. My beautiful wife, Kendall, is a curriculum coach for Buncombe County Schools. My wonderful son, John, is a seventh grader at North Buncombe Middle School. My sweet little girl, Honey Jo, is not old enough to attend school yet, so she stays with her grandmothers (Granna and Mammaw). My family attends Maple Ridge Baptist Church, where I am the young adult Sunday school teacher and the director of missions. We live on a farm at the Forks of Ivy. When I am not at school, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping with my family. Come by and let me show you what’s great about West Buncombe.
Note: We are expecting another little Chandler in October.
