English Language Learners at CAEMS   

At this time, there are approximately 130 English Language Learners enrolled at Erwin Middle School, with others commuting to the Newcomers’ Center.  These students bring many languages and cultures to enrich our school’s diversity.  While Spanish is the most common first language at 70 students, we also have students bringing the following languages: 14 Russian, 6 Ukrainian, 5 Moldovan, 1 Marshallese, 1 shawaiian, 2 Danish, and 1 Albanian.   These students are served by two English Language Development certified teachers.
