  • Eblen Charities Awareness/Fund Raising

    We have several events and activities coming up to raise awareness and funds for Eblen Charities. The week of Oct 20-24 is Eblen Spirit Week with a different theme each day. Dress up, have fun, and support Eblen with donations to purchase paper pumpkins. Then, Friday, Oct 24 is the Pumpkin Playoffs - a Dodgeball Tournament open to all CCMS students.   • Solar Schools Challenge

    The Solar Schools Challenge is a contest between Buncombe County Schools to see who can get there school and community the most excited about solar energy. Cane Creek has there own solar website which I will be loading with lots of information and documentation of student involvement.

  • Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Eisenhower

    I am from Catawba, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I started teaching in Rowan-Salisbury Schools where I taught Science for half a year, then Math for a full year. I then taught Math and Science at Mooresville Middle School for the 2013-2014 school year. I moved to the Asheville area in June to be with my fiance. We will be getting married in April 2015 at Lake Lure. I am excited to start a new journey at Cane Creek Middle School!

  • Kindle Fire Grant awarded to...

    Gina Schweitzer and Keith Bogardus were awarded a $3000 grant from Dollar General that allows them to create a 1:1 classroom with Kindle Fire HD Devices. The grant money will also fund an online reading program that delivers leveled text to each student. Gina Schweitzer was also awarded a $1200.00 grant from Donor's Choose to purchase four more Kindles for her classroom. Gina Schweitzer, II teacher , Susan Andrew, BCS grant writer, and Kendra Cameron Jarvis, Cane Creek Literacy Coach, wrote these grants at the end of last school year. Thanks to Dollar General and other generous benefactors these students will have the opportunity to read thousands of books at their reading level on a digital device.

The school calendar indicates that report cards were to be released on Wednesday, October 29th; however, in order to ensure accuracy of the HOME BASE report card features, report cards will be issued between Wednesday, October 29th and Friday, October 31st.
