Welcome to Emma Elementary, home of the Cougars! The staff at Emma is dedicated
to ensuring that your child is successful and receives the best education possible as we
continue the tradition of excellence at Emma.
As a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) school, we have several programs in
place to recognize and reward good behavior and hard work. Each month we recognize
students who have been good citizens by our Terrific Kids program, which is sponsored
by the Kiwanis Club. Once a month, a group of students is selected to have lunch with
me; they are recognized as the Principal’s Lunch Bunch. We also have drawings each
Friday for students who were “Caught Being Good,” and each week the classroom
teachers recognize a “Kind Kid.” Classrooms are rewarded weekly with Cougar Paws
for outstanding behavior. All of these programs encourage our Emma students to be
respectful citizens and follow our Cougar Promise. We believe good behavior is a
cooperative effort between home and school and that by working together we can create well-
mannered students who are successful both at home and school.
There are many ways for you to participate – by coming to PTO meetings, volunteering
in your child’s class, or just by supporting your child’s learning at home. We know
that each family’s schedule and home commitments are different, and we value and
appreciate whatever kinds of involvement you choose. On behalf of the faculty and
staff, I would like to extend an invitation for you to visit our school and see all of the
wonderful things that take place each day.
If you have questions or concerns at any time during the year, please feel free to contact
me. I can be reached at 232-4272 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
At Emma, staff, students, and families are a community of learners. The staff and I look
forward to working in partnership with you and your child during the coming year. We
anticipate an exciting year of learning.
