Students from across the state audition in March each year for seats in the All State Bands. They are chosen to audition by having placed high enough in their respective sections for their District Honor Bands held in late winter.

In two recent letters dated May 5 and May 12, June Atkinson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, clarifies the impact of the proposed NC House budget for K-12 education, and of the additional cuts targeted by the State Senate.
