At Fairview Elementary School we believe that a child’s education is a partnership between the school and family, working together for the benefit of the child. A interpreter will be scheduled toattend our PTA meetings and parent workshops to provide greater opportunities for the participation of parents with limited English proficiency.
Fairview teachers and administrators acknowledge that parents play anintegral role in assisting student learning. To help parents assist students, there are various opportunities where parents are given an overview of specific areas of curriculum. Fairview Elementary recognizes parents as fullpartners in decisions that affect our students and we will foster and supportthis parental involvement in the following ways:
K and 1st Grades Meet the Teacher/Open House/Title 1 Annual Meeting- August 15 (8:00-9:00)
2nd and 3rd Grades Meet the Teacher/Open House/Title 1 Annual Meeting- August 15 (9:30-10:30)
4th and 5th Grades Meet the Teacher/Open House/Title 1 Annual Meeting- August 15 (11:00-12:00)
Volunteer Training- September 20 (11:00-12:00)
Family Pizza and Math Night- September 20- 5:30-6:30
Fall Festival- October 13
PTA General Meeting, Family Dinner & Literacy Night - October 25 (5:30-7:00)
7 Keys to Comprehension for K-5 (September 25 at 9:30 and 5:00)
February 21- PTA, Book Fair, Unicycle and Dinner (4:45-6:30)
Math and Munch for K-2 (October 11 at 9:30 and 5:00)
Math and Munch for 3-5 (April 3 at 9:30 and 5:00)
Parents are encouraged to volunteer
Fairview Elementary classroom teachers encourage parents and family members to volunteer in the classroom during Self Selected Reading, Research and in many other capacities. As part of our Safe Schools Program, all volunteers are requested to sign in at the office and wear the printed Volunteer badge.
At Fairview we recognize that parents are a child’s first teacher and that parents want their child to succeed. Parents are encouraged to monitor their child’s progress through:
- Homework and daily reading log
- Observation of graded papers
- Progress reports
- Report cards — The Title I staff communicates with the parents of each child served by a Title I staff member. This report is always enclosed with the child’s regular report card.

En la Escuela Elemental Fairview creemos que la educación de un estudiante esuna asociación entre la escuela y la familia, trabajando en su beneficio. Se programará la asistencia de intérpretesdurante las reuniones de la PTA y a los talleres para padres, ofreciendo así,una mayor oportunidad de participación para los padres con un inglés limitado.
Los maestros y administradores de Fairview reconocen, que los padres juegan un papel integralen el apoyo del aprendizaje estudiantil. Con el fin de ayudar a los padres a asistir a sus estudiantes, ofrecemosmuchas oportunidades para que reciban una visión general de áreas específicasdel currículo. La escuela considera alos padres como asociados íntegros, en la toma de decisiones que afecten anuestros estudiantes.
