School Demographics

BCS is the state's 10th largest school system and the largest school district in Western North Carolina. It employs nearly 4,000 people and serves more than 25,000 students, making BCS the county's second largest employer. More than 50 different languages are spoken in our 41 schools. The system is sub-divided into six districts, each with one high school and one middle schools except for an additonal middle school serving both the Reynolds and Roberson Districts. All high schools and middle schools have an array of athletic teams available for students.
