Jimmy, Grace, and Tara were the winners of the annual Patriot's Pen Writing Contest. This is a national competition and is held by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. The three students attended a banquet and were presented cash prizes, certificates and medals for their achievements in writing. The prompt this year was "Why I appreciate America's veterans." Their task was to write a 300-400 word essay explaining their ideas.
