McKee, Kenny

Welcome to my page.  I am the literacy coach for Erwin High School, Owen High School, and Early and Middle Colleges.  My job is to work with both teachers and students to integrate effective literacy instruction into all classes. 
 
Before becoming a literacy coach, I taught English language arts in both middle and high schools.  I have a Bachelor's of Science in English Education from Appalachian State University, and I am currently working on a Master's of Education in Reading from East Carolina University.  I am also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) with a certification in English Language Arts -- Early Adolescence.
 
My wife and I just welcomed our first child, a son, last August.  My interests include:  literacy (of course), reading, listening to live music, watching movies, running, playing disc golf, and cooking.
