Welcome to my Classroom I provide speech/language evaluations and small-group therapy to students in grades K, 1, 2, 3. Types of speech/language disorders addressed include articulation, receptive & expressive language, social/pragmatic language, fluency and voice. Though I have served other schools with Estes, I have been here at Estes since it opened in 1980. I received my Bachelor's of Education degree from Western Carolina University and my Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I hold dual certification in the areas of Speech-Language and Hearing Impairment through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, am privately licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners and am nationally certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association with the Certificate of Clinical Competence. I have supervised more than 30 student teachers and graduate student interns and co-taught a course in public school speech therapy services for several semesters at Western Carolina University. I thoroughly enjoy working with students in the speech room and in the regular classroom; I am thrilled to watch their progress and their increased confidence as their communication skills improve. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about your child or about speech-language development in general. |
