Welcome to my Classroom
¡Bienvenidos a mi clase!

Exploratory Spanish is meant to provide a general overview of the basics of the language, hopefully inspiring students to pursue lifelong language study.

I have lived and studied in Colombia and Mexico, and have had the opportunity to continually practice speaking Spanish in a professional capacity.

I am so happy to be your teacher, and look forward to the year.

¡Hola!  I am so happy to be teaching Spanishthis year.  I will be at Owen Middle School for the Fall semester, and at ValleySprings Middle School for the Spring semester.

My focus in this exploratory Spanish class is to help students to becomeconversational in a few basics in a short time. The idea is that they should be able to start up a basicconversation with a native Spanish speaker and begin to make friends. We will learn how to introduceourselves, talk about how we are doing, describe ourselves and others, talkabout likes and dislikes, classroom commands and questions, and how to orderfood in Spanish. Our cultural units this year focus on Mexican holidays, multiculturalsensitivity, and immigration issues people face right here in BuncombeCounty. We do lots of speakingactivities, songs, games, and focus on speaking more than writing.

Please check our wish listfor additional classroom supplies that you may be willing to donate. (There are a few odd items on the wishlist because I include quite a variety of different activities!)

Please contact me if you haveany supplies or expertise you would be willing to share, and of course with anyquestions or concerns. I wouldlove to hear from you.
