Welcome to Physical Education!

P.E. is the best part of the day! P.E. is more than just play. Our curriculum follows the N.C. Healthful Living Standard Course of Study. The focus of instruction involves movement forms, fitness and sport literacy, healthful lifestyles, personal fitness, and appreciation for diversity.

I am blessed to have this fun and rewarding job! I started teaching at North Buncombe Elementary School in 1990, when the school first opened...or you could say, since the foundation. I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of South Carolina and my Master of Arts from Appalachian State University. In 2002, I received my National Board certification in Early and Middle Childhood Physical Education.

My name is Adam Keath. I am a so excited to be here at North Buncombe Elementary School to do my student teaching. I am a senior at Western Carolina University. Before I decided to go into teaching I served in the US army for two years and then got my Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. The students and staff here at NBES have been very welcoming and I feel right at home.
