School social work is a specialized area of practice within the broad field of social work.  In North Carolina, school social workers are licensed through the Department of Public Instruction. School social work practice includes home visits, assessment, group and individual counseling, program development, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, consultation and coordination of school and community services.

School Networking Night
 
This month, Thurs., Jan. 31st, 6:00-8:00PM, Family Support Network™ will be hosting a School Networking Night. This events will give families the opportunity to build more effective working relationships with their child's school Exceptional Children's department along with their school nurse. Registration is required for this events and child care will be available if requested in advance. See the Flier for more details.
