Hi! My name is Stephanie Benson. I am the Art teacher at Oakley Elementary and Barnardsville Elementary. I am at Oakley three days a week and two days a week at Barnardsville. This is my 5th year teaching in Buncombe County. 
 
A little about me:
I grew up in Jamestown, NC, about two and a half hours east of Asheville.  I went to college at East Carolina University and graduated in December, 2000, with a BFA in K-12 Art Education with a concentration in Textiles.  After college, in August of 2001, I accepted a teaching job and moved to Newport News, VA.  I taught K-5 Art in Newport News for 7 years before getting married and moving to Asheville in June, 2008.  My husband is originally from Asheville.  We live in Asheville with our son, Jacob. We also have 2 dogs (Sasha and Panjo) and several cats.  I am a big animal lover.  Some of my hobbies include photography, traveling, shopping, spending time with my family, reading a good book, and training and playing with my dogs.
