Welcome to my Classroom
Debbie L. Ebner

Miss Ebner graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education from Colorado State University. She most recently taught in Alabama for 4 years at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama (a bedroom community of Birmingham).  She was also the Career Technical Education Coordinator for Trussville City Schools.  Previously she taught in Colorado for 4 years in the 1980’s.  Between 1989 and 2003, she was in the car rental industry where she spent time in reservations and operations management, and developed a reputation as a “turnaround manager.”  As a result, she frequently moved around the country working in Charlotte, NC, Scottsdale, AZ, Tallahassee, FL, Charleston, SC, Atlanta, GA, Myrtle Beach, SC, Memphis, TN, Houston, TX, and Fort Lauderdale, FL.  She spent time as a Regional Manager overseeing 21 Training Managers in 64 locations throughout the southeast.  After 11 years, she worked her way up to Corporate Manager of Performance and Learning.  Finding the top of the ladder at corporate headquarters unfulfilling, she left taking 8 months off to decide what she really wanted to do with her life. It became clear that she missed teaching and working with high school students. She began the process of getting recertified and looking for a job. Three years later, a Marketing Education position came open at her local high school in Alabama.

Miss Ebner served as a Board Member for the local Chamber of Commerce in Trussville, AL.  She also acted as the sponsor for the Chamber’s High School Student Ambassador Program.  For the 4 years she taught in Trussville her DECA Chapter was the largest in the state of Alabama all 4 years.  She also served as an Executive Board Member of the National Marketing Education Association from 2007 to 2010.

Having been a member of DECA at her own high school growing up, Miss Ebner knows from personal experience the difference DECA can make in the life and future success of students.

In her spare time, Miss Ebner spends time with her cat & dog, flower gardening, and traveling.
