About Us.
 
Hello, and welcome to our class!  This will be my ninth year teaching at Johnston, and I am so excited about the 2012-2013 school year.  To me there is no better grade than Kindergarten. We get to see so much growth and learning take place through the course of the year, it is just amazing.
 
(A little about Mr. Powell)
I am from Kings Mountain North Carolina. I received my BA in psychology from East Carolina University.   In 2002 I completed the elementary licensure program at UNCA . Now I am at Johnston Elementary school where I get to play, sing and make a positive impact on my student's lives.
 
 
(now introducing Ms. Parham)
This is my fifth year at Johnston and I love being apart of a great school.  I am an Asheville native and I returned to Asheville after completing my Bachelors degree in Human Services and Spanish from Carson-Newman College.  I absolutely love Kindergarten students because I love to watch them grow as they start their education journey. I feel very blessed to be able to work with such a wonderful group of children!
